Grey Hood

As a black male in America, I have to be very cautious of how I present myself in social situations and very astute of my surroundings at all times. Even though we live in what is supposed to be a post racial society, there are very obvious injustices and unfair double standards that I have to face daily. This is a burden that many just like me face, usually quietly, because if any attempt is made to speak out, even the most educated, eloquent, and reserved individual can have their image tarnished. Luckily though, there are those who use alternate mediums to speak up and make bold and impassioned statements that bring awareness to the adversities that face people of color while also remaining respectful to not cross into outright social commentary.

Filmmaker Victor Joyner is one of those people. The man in charge of Victorious Films LLC, has been using his talents to uplift and educate the public about things happening in the world, while also remaining a man of conviction and faith. He has a few projects under his belt already, including Gospel Gangster, Redemptive Love, and Thieves on the Cross. He currently has a new project that is in the very early developmental stages entitled Grey Hood, and here is a quick synopsis.

Grey Hood is the story of 4 women who have had their lives ripped apart by tragedy, each feeling like they don't have the ability to go on until their paths cross. While trying to put their lives back together, they have formed a bond of sisterhood but will this bond be strong enough to help them turn the page from their past to the future?

Taking inspiration from real world issues, but framed and viewed from a unique perspective, this project looks to shed new light on otherwise dark subject matter. And you can help make this happen. There is an indiegogo page for the project which you can find HERE. Give whatever you can, any and all donations help make this a reality.
